Job Title: Production Captain (Facility Manager)
Department: Processing/ Extraction
Status: Non-Exempt

About This Role

The Production/Facility Captain is responsible in executing and supporting the management of packaging technicians to fill cartridges, gram concentrates, package finished product, and label finished product in accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specific job training, and internal quality control measures.

The Production Captain must follow general Common Citizen rules, policies, and procedures as well as local and state regulations while working in the MIP laboratory. In addition, the Production Captain is expected to foster a positive team environment with clear communication.

As with everyone at Common Citizen, the Production Captain is also is expected to care about and contribute to the Common Citizen fight to end the social stigma surrounding cannabis, helping more people discover the greater quality of life it can provide.

What You Will Be Doing

NOTE: Responsibilities are not intended to be all inclusive; Fulfillment/Inventory Lead may be required to perform additional tasks occasionally per company needs.

  • Maintain internally established par levels of product inventory and product needed to fulfill incoming orders; direct packaging team to fulfill these directives
  • Design weekly production schedule for filling, packaging and scheduling deliveries
  • Keep packaging area clean, organized, and sanitary; direct packagers to properly clean workstations
  • Conduct weekly physical inventory of finished product and packaging materials; reconcile discrepancies
  • Design and print compliance stickers for each production batch and source third party printing services as needed
  • Inform Facility Director of inventory such as packaging, product hardware, office supplies and general department needs
  • Complete METRC data entry and create RFID tags corresponding to each production batch as needed ensuring METRC corresponds to physical inventory
  • Enter potency, RSA, and microbial test results into shared company spreadsheet; remove production batches from "QA Hold" for packaging
  • Ensure packaging is compliant with current rules and regulations; perform periodic audits
  • Responsible for properly wasting wax and distillate
  • Account management support for outstanding balances
  • Perform rotating shared MIP sanitation duties including breakroom and bathroom cleaning; delegate cleaning tasks to packaging team
  • Keep up to date with current industry rules and regulations including internal policy updates requiring changes in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and packaging procedures
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all fulfillment and inventory processes
  • Manage and reconcile all payments and AR on a daily basis

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent, business or similar degree preferred

  • Read relevant SOPS to role and training documentation must be signed
  • Follow daily direction from Packaging Manager or Level III packaging technician and complete assigned packaging tasks
  • Ensure specific packaging templates are followed; each package must look EXACTLY like the example
  • Apply batch specific stickers, place finished product into appropriate boxes, line finished product in an organized easy to count fashion inside of plastic bins for storage
  • Fill out required QA documentation for each batch; signature and date for every step of process performed is required per MED regulations
  • Acquire "double check" from Packaging Manager or level III packaging technician after each task is complete
  • Keep a tidy workspace and sanitize work areas and tools/equipment before/after use
  • Keep up to date with current industry rules and regulations from management

Job Title: Chief Revenue Officer

About This Role

Reporting into the CFO, the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will be responsible for working seamlessly with people across the organization to drive the company’s long and short-term revenue strategy for pioneering into new Michigan markets and opportunities across the Michigan retail market. As we are a fast-growing start-up company, some design and setup of financial systems is required.

This position will be based out of Marshall, MI, but we can be flexible on the day-to-day work location of the CRO. Some travel may be required to meet with members of the retail team at our dispensaries.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Establish both short-term results and long-term strategy, including revenue forecasting by Retail location
  • Drive monthly revenue results and take accountability for both short-term success and longer-term strategy
  • Build and monitor the revenue pipeline and leads, adjusting as necessary to create sustainable growth in the wholesale sales market
  • Manage the revenue cycle from customer acquisition to engagement to success
  • Plan and organize trade shows, field days/demonstrations, and other sales promotion activities as needed
  • Drive a “lean startup” style environment of constant experimentation and learning
  • Work closely with Operations and Finance department to define parameters of pricing and promotions to drive profitable sales
  • Lead strategic/business planning efforts, including company positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning
  • Partner with Marketing & Branding leadership to create and execute winning marketing strategies to drive profitable growth
  • Set and execute the strategic “go to market” strategies for all brands and new products and use data to drive better product marketing and pricing strategy
  • Define the performance metrics and KPI’s for running an efficient retail organization
  • Provide customer feedback to other functional groups on future trends and needs in product development

The Experience You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree; and/or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years executive level experience in leading sales as a VP or SVP of Revenue or Chief Revenue Officer in a fast paced, high growth environment; prior experience at a CPG, cannabis or manufacturing/distribution company strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working in a hyper-growth environment (scaling, aggregating, integrating businesses) is critical. Specifically, the ideal candidate will have worked in a dynamic growth environment where the focus has been on aggressively scaling up operations to take advantage of a significant market opportunity
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements, system overhauls, and solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborative approach to managing relationships at the executive level, and the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams to meet goals and drive growth, impact, and organizational performance
  • Significant experience in hiring, building and managing a top performing Sales, Marketing and Business Development team in a high-growth environment

Reporting into the Controller, the Accounting Lead will be responsible for working seamlessly with people across the organization to ensure accurate financial control and reporting across the Enterprises Supply Chain and all of our cultivation and retail stores. As we are a fast-growing start-up company, some design and setup of our processes is required.

As with everyone at Common Citizen, our Accounting Lead is expected to contribute to the Common Citizen movement to end the stigma and liberate all people through cannabis.

This position will be based in Marshall, MI. Some travel may be required to meet with members of the retail team at our dispensaries.

Job Title: Retail Accountant

About This Role

At Common Citizen, we are passionate about collaboration and believe no one works in isolation. Thus, we call the role of Retail Accountant a Retail Accounting Lead. Reporting into the Controller, the Retail Accounting Lead will be responsible for working seamlessly with people across the organization to ensure accurate financial control and reporting across all our retail stores. As we are a fast-growing start-up company, some design and setup of our processes is required.

As with everyone at Common Citizen, our Retail Accounting Lead is expected to contribute to the Common Citizen movement to end the stigma and liberate all people through cannabis.

This position will be based in Marshall, MI. Some travel may be required to meet with members of the retail team at our dispensaries.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Establishing, communicating and constantly refining policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Review JEs carefully for anomalies and other inconsistencies
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports for submission to management
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording verifying, consolidating and entering transactions
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
  • Assist the Controller with suggesting changes to policies or procedures to increase cash flow
  • Classify costs accurately

The Experience You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Manufacturing, agricultural, distribution, or consumer packaged goods experience is preferred
  • Experience with intercompany activity, consolidations, inventory management, and taxes is preferred
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Experience working with a variety of legal and regulatory entities
  • Experience working with financial software to manage company finances.
  • Ability to explain complex or technical financial subjects to a non-technical audience

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
  • Regularly spend long hours in intense concentration reviewing and entering financial information into a computer
  • Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds
