Overview

Cleaning Team Captains supervise janitorial operations in the building and coordinate the cleaning staff. Job functions of these professionals include checking if facilities are cleaned correctly, assigning tasks, investigating complaints, ordering supplies, creating schedules, and training employees. Cleaning Team Captains assist the Cleaning Technicians to develop successful cleaning methods to improve efficiency and productivity.

Overview

Cleaning Technicians will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, break rooms, grounds, production area and equipment. This includes but is not limited to disposing of waste, generating operations and purchasing orders, stocking, and prioritizing emergency and non-routine requests. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, flexible, and willing to take on routine cleaning and special projects as needed.

Overview

Under the direction of the VP of Operations, the grower technologist is a member of the Production Team that assists in the care and maintenance of plants. The position requires a dedicated, focused professional with strong attention to detail, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP ) for all cultivation activities during medical marijuana processing, at all times, to result consistent quality marijuana products
  • Conduct lot coding and tracking of individual marijuana plants and the resultant harvested bulk and finished marijuana products
  • Responsible for sanitation of equipment and production areas , preparation and maintenance of nutrient reservoirs and irrigation system
  • Assure all marijuana products are free from contamination risk at all processing stages right from propagation to final packaging
  • Implement standard procedures that maximize equipment safety, sanitation practices, maintenance support and assure consistent quality product output
  • Ensure regulatory requirements needed for premises and equipment used for cultivation, harvest, preparation, packaging, storage, infusion and sale of marijuana incidental are maintained in clean and sanitary conditions
  • Monitor for Quality Control checks to ensure process and product Quality in line with site Quality Assurance team
  • Perform safe and effective harvesting, trimming, drying and converting cannabis bulk product into high quality marijuana products
  • Ensure that refuse and waste products are managed and destroyed as per the current approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Maintain, check and review of Lot Production Record for each cannabis batch
  • Track and record clone, plant and product transfer across cultivation rooms and vault
  • Oversee general facility maintenance of cultivation/production areas and apply problem-solving skills to overcome daily cultivation/production issues
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work space and displays a high standard of cleanliness

Overview

Harvest team members are responsible for ensuring the product is accurately and efficiently harvested to the quality standards of our company. The harvest crew members are an important part of the seed-to-sale chain of production and act as the bridge from garden to store, ensuring delivery of the best customer experience that can be provided.

The harvest team is one of the most important roles in the production operation. Harvest team members should care about accuracy and should maintain patience, positivity, and productivity to the best of their ability. Harvesting can be an intense job with repetitive functions, so it is paramount that quality and care is the main goal of all team members.

Skills & Responsibilities

  • Wet Plant Harvest (“Pull and Hang”): Should be efficient both with “de-fanning” and “hanging” so that product can cure correctly.
  • Dry Plant Harvest: Should have experience in both dry trimming and de-boning and know the different techniques for the various strains harvested. A combination of speed and accuracy are needed. Should be able to vary technique based on the needs of the store or management.
  • Strain Separation: Team members must be aware of what strain they are harvesting and must stay organized to ensure no product is mislabeled or misplaced.
  • Take Direction: Harvest team members report to the Harvest Manager, who is in charge of the daily operations of the Harvest team and may assign tasks as needed
  • Clean Work Space: All team members should help in keeping the work environment clean and always help clean before breaks or at the end of the day.
  • There at no time should be open containers on trim tables.
  • Cannabis Knowledge: Should possess a willingness to learn strain genetics and morphology, as well as signs of disease or other quality issues.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Must be aware of all laws surrounding compliance in medical or retail business operations. Must be detail oriented enough to assist with tracking plant waste and other aspects of maintaining compliance.

Under the direction of the Harvesting Manager, the Processing Technician is responsible for manicuring wet or dry flower from stalk and breaking down plants to process/trim them to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tracking the batches that they trim including the final finished product, the usable by-product amount (trim), and the un-usable by-product (waste) according to company policy and practices, as well as state, local and MED laws and regulations.
  • Breakdown flowers off of stem and stalk of plant in order to separate unusable waste from useable product
  • Track the amount of unusable waste for each plant/batch.
  • After breakdown of plant, employee must identify and separate fan leaves, stems and sugar leaves on the flower.
  • Employee must account for each by-product type processed off the flower; adding stems and fan leaves to “waste” for proper tracking.
  • Employee must exhibit competency in basic organizational, tracking and communication skills.
  • Employee must be able to work well independently, as well as with others.
  • Employee must be able to adapt to various strains, styles and types of marijuana they are trimming; adjusting their techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality.
  • Time management; employee must manage their time during work efficiently in order to meet goals while consistently producing quality product. •
  • Employee must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from their managers so they can help maintain quality standards and production goals.
  • Employee must exhibit personal hygiene and follow the health guidelines set forth while processing marijuana
  • Trim staff is responsible for clean-up of all processing areas and equipment at the end of every day.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department as needed an/or requested by their direct supervisor; this may include but is not limited to, helping grow staff with small tasks, cleaning and/or moving supplies and equipment and/or helping the packaging department or working at other locations as needed.
  • Must work well with others and be able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure and technique.
  • Use of independent judgment in regard to product processing, keeping quality, projections and goals in mind.
  • Help create a proactive and positive environment; a positive attitude and self-motivation to help produce High quality manicured product, while meeting and/or exceeding personal and/or company goals

Qualifications:

  • Trim staff must have a basic understanding of Marijuana laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state; a pursuit to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws is appreciated and commendable.
  • Fundamental knowledge, as well as the ability to be taught and guided in areas related to harvesting, drying, trimming and curing; initial focus on trimming with other areas being taught as the employee shows interest while still maintaining their capabilities as a trimmer. · Skill in analyzing potential problems with a plant or the product being processed; “coded product”.
  • Shows self-motivation/innovation and the ability to work well with all members of their staff and the company, as well as with their direct supervisor. ·
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively various audiences, especially with the direct supervisors and other co-workers.
  • Ability to use initiative and independent judgment appropriately while not overstepping chain of command.
  • 1-2 years’ experience processing medical marijuana or other botanicals preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Overview

As a specialized classification, the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Specialist role will develop, implement and manage Common Citizen’s policies and procedures related to its pest management program, with emphasis on a least toxic approach. Working with all departments, the IPM Specialist will advise, train and assist employees within their area of responsibility and coordinate with the IPM Technical Advisory Committee.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an integrated pest management program to monitor, prevent and control pests in the facilities assisting all departments as necessary
  • Monitor pest ecosystems and evaluate the presence of harmful pests, disease and natural predators, responding to threats appropriately and suggesting preventative measures
  • Identify plant health indicators, interpret and diagnose signs of plant stress, and make recommendations for treatment
  • Investigate, test and recommend new chemicals and methods of application as well as non-chemical
  • Prepare and maintain inspection site maps, application and inspection records, work logs, and investigation reports, as needed
  • Receive, store, select, mix, package, prepare and apply toxic materials using safe practices. (or in accordance with manufacturers recommended safety procedures)
  • Coordinate and train employees in integrated pest management principles, the operation of equipment and application of products
  • Maintain records, databases, contracts and other documentation to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and laws across all levels of government
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning to develop and implement projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data and create clear, concise reports and other written materials
  • Respond to public and/or staff complaints and requests for service.
  • Observe and problem solve operational and technical policy and procedures
  • Provide expertise, assistance and training where needed to maintain an acute awareness of safety hazards and maintain a safe working environment.

Experience and Additional Requirements

  • Three years of experience with organic farming or organic parks is preferred
  • Equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, or pest management; or completion of core course requirements for Agricultural Pest Control Advisor (PCA) license plus 24 months technical experience equivalent to an assistant to a PCA
  • A minimum of 40 hours of continuing education shall be completed for every two-year period.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the position on a continuous basis

Contribute to our people employment lifecycle, including but not limited to:

  • Owning and managing our Hire-Inspire-Admire-Retire vision
  • Consult and work collaboratively with retail staff leadership towards living our HR vision across the company.
  • Providing support to our citizens through constant communication and a hands-on approach
  • Providing high-quality counsel to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
  • Identifying ways to continuously evolve our HR policies & procedures in line with our company purpose and culture
  • Supporting management in implementing programs to help improve the workplace experience
  • A passion for our corporate culture & values, ensuring they are felt across our team

Act as a liaison between Common Citizen and outside professional resources to ensure that all employment policies are compliant with current laws and regulations

Train and support future HR team members.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related discipline and/or at least 5+ years of experience in an HR role, ideally in a high-growth company
  • A SHRM, HRCI or similar certification is preferable
  • Expertise in HR policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of hiring and retention strategies
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR best practices, including current laws and regulations
  • Experience in and a passion for Lean Manufacturing
  • An innate love of people and helping them live their best lives. A real people person with a passion for humanity
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, amazing listening, and strong relationship-building skills
  • A high level of professionalism and discretion, with strong conflict resolution skills
  • Capable of handling change in a growing company and working from the ground up on systems and processes
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, building and adapting in the position to support the people and strategic goals of the organization
  • Experience with HR system software and familiarity with MS Office suite
