Job Title: Chapter Captain Department: Retail Reports to: Director of Retail Value Stream Status: Non-Exempt About This Role The role of a Chapter Captain is to guide and inspire the team to deliver an exceptional chapter experience that promotes the Common Citizen movement. This involves leading by example in serving your fellow citizens; inspiring and admiring your team members; and working with company experts in value streams such as HR, Finance and Regulatory Compliance. The Chapter Captain is also responsible for leading the Common Citizen movement on the local level and creating an efficient and profitable operation of the chapter. As a Citizen Advisor you are the face of the company and need to treat all our guests with great humanity. Advisors are educators first, salespeople second. Their primary role is to provide unparalleled customer service in which they educate their fellow citizens, the dispensary guests, and help them discover the cannabis products that will help them achieve a higher quality of life. Job Title: Lab Technician Lead Department: Processing/ Extraction Reports to: Hazel Park Production Captain (Facility Captain) Status: Non-Exempt About This Role The Lab Technician Lead Works directly under the Marijuana Infused Products (MIP) Production/ Facility Captain to produce various marijuana derived products in accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specific job training, and internal quality control measures. Required production and processing tasks are graduated based on the level of technician as outlined below. Technicians will be assigned weekly or monthly production quotas and individual achievement goals. Technicians must follow general Common Citizen rules, policies, and procedures as well as local and state regulations while working in the MIP laboratory. In addition, technicians are expected to work cordially in a team environment that fosters positivity and clear communication. As with everyone at Common Citizen, the Lab Technician Lead is also is expected to care about and contribute to the Common Citizen fight to end the social stigma surrounding cannabis, helping more people discover the greater quality of life it can provide. What You Will Be Doing NOTE: Responsibilities are not intended to be all inclusive; Lead Lab Technician may be required to perform additional tasks occasionally per company needs.
  • Read and pass a proficiency exam of relevant SOPS to role, training documentation must be signed
  • Lead Lab Technician must successfully complete a verbal proficiency test
  • Hydrocarbon extraction of prepped material; must understand basic principles of the Ideal Gas Law (relationship between temperature and pressure) and how to safely operate the closed loop system with this in mind
  • Stocking laboratory supplies; ethanol, cleaning ethanol, dishwasher soap/rinse aid, hand soap, paper towels, trash bags, shredded paper bin
  • Mixing stock solutions for various products including but not limited to topicals and vaporizer solutions
  • Checking in incoming plant material, logging and organizing material into appropriate batches
  • Filling hydrocarbon solvent tanks for extraction in appropriate order per CGA safety guidelines
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment; includes clog mitigation, pump maintenance, any other regular maintenance, and keeping equipment free of kief and dust
  • Basic cold filtration (F1), lipid filtration, advanced cold filtration (F2), rotary evaporation, and decarboxylation (VTA oil prep)
  • Communicating inventory department needs to management; solvents, consumables, repair items, etc.
  • Participating in ongoing and refresher technician training on regular intervals and as deemed necessary by management
  • Product post-processing; dissolving extract for distillate, whipping waxes, pouring shatter slabs, whipping budder, burping terpene jars, preparing products for sale
  • Daily station sanitation; must complete daily checklist and keep workspaces clean and orderly
  • Logging batch information in real time and appropriately on corresponding Chain of Custody forms
  • Maintaining production, maintenance, and repair logs
  • Lead Lab Technician must ensure compliance responsibilities such as quality assurance (QA) and MED enforcement including regular operational, sanitation, and inventory inspections/internal audits
  • Root Sciences VTA Short Path Distillation Unit operation, maintenance, and sanitation; technicians must adhere to production schedules/quotas and achieve desirable product potencies
  • Advanced cold filtration (F2), rotary evaporation, and decarboxylation (VTA oil prep) as needed
  • Sanitation supervisor in charge of maintaining and enforcing established daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning procedures, responsible for performing daily/weekly station checks
  • Maintaining and enforcing technician Chain of Custody forms, logs, and lab books; ensuring documentation is properly filled out and physically achieved
  • Provides training assistance to MIP Director for new laboratory technicians
  • Performs weekly laboratory inventory of supplies, consumables, and METRC based marijuana products

Job Title: Production Captain (Facility Manager) Department: Processing/ Extraction Status: Non-Exempt About This Role The Production/Facility Captain is responsible in executing and supporting the management of packaging technicians to fill cartridges, gram concentrates, package finished product, and label finished product in accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specific job training, and internal quality control measures. The Production Captain must follow general Common Citizen rules, policies, and procedures as well as local and state regulations while working in the MIP laboratory. In addition, the Production Captain is expected to foster a positive team environment with clear communication. As with everyone at Common Citizen, the Production Captain is also is expected to care about and contribute to the Common Citizen fight to end the social stigma surrounding cannabis, helping more people discover the greater quality of life it can provide. What You Will Be Doing NOTE: Responsibilities are not intended to be all inclusive; Fulfillment/Inventory Lead may be required to perform additional tasks occasionally per company needs.
  • Maintain internally established par levels of product inventory and product needed to fulfill incoming orders; direct packaging team to fulfill these directives
  • Design weekly production schedule for filling, packaging and scheduling deliveries
  • Keep packaging area clean, organized, and sanitary; direct packagers to properly clean workstations
  • Conduct weekly physical inventory of finished product and packaging materials; reconcile discrepancies

As with everyone at Common Citizen, the Production Citizen is also is expected to care about and contribute to the Common Citizen fight to end the social stigma surrounding cannabis, helping more people discover the greater quality of life it can provide. What You Will Be Doing NOTE: Responsibilities are not intended to be all inclusive; packaging technician may be required to perform additional tasks occasionally per company needs.
  • Read relevant SOPS to role and training documentation must be signed
  • Follow daily direction from Packaging Manager or Level III packaging technician and complete assigned packaging tasks
  • Ensure specific packaging templates are followed; each package must look EXACTLY like the example
  • Apply batch specific stickers, place finished product into appropriate boxes, line finished product in an organized easy to count fashion inside of plastic bins for storage
  • Fill out required QA documentation for each batch; signature and date for every step of process performed is required per MED regulations
  • Acquire "double check" from Packaging Manager or level III packaging technician after each task is complete
  • Keep a tidy workspace and sanitize work areas and tools/equipment before/after use
  • Keep up to date with current industry rules and regulations from management
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing or packaging background preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
